Hi, I am Juile age 46.  I never like working out, getting all sweaty and I don't like gyms.  But since I became a member of Dare to Be Fit, all that has changed.  I am no longer on blood pressure medication.  I look and feel more energic and trim.  People are comlimenting me all the time on how much I have changed.  I smile a lot more because I feel so good.  Coach discovered the 'gym rat' in me and I am proud to say that I am in the best shape ever at 46 years old.  If you are serious about exercise and healthy choices, then Coach, Ray and Ty will lead you every step of the way.  Dare to Be Fit is like my very own personal training club.

Can’t Get Cool

12 possible reasons why you always seem hotter than everyone else. And no, this isn’t the good type of hot.

Do you always turn the air down to make the house cooler, wear summer clothes in the winter, and sleep without blankets? When everyone around you is cool or comfortable, are you burning hot? You don’t have a health condition that you know of, so you just assume you’re hot-natured. While this may be the case, there are medical and non-medical reasons for always feeling hot.

If you’re unsure whether your constant hotness if medical in nature, discuss these possibilities with your doctor.

1: Age

Your body cools itself through your skin. As you get older, your body’s natural ability to cool itself may not work as well as it once did. That’s because with age, your heart can’t pump as much blood to your skin’s surface as before, and your blood vessels are thinner. This means you’re likely hotter than you used to be.

2: Stress

When you’re anxious or stressed, you may feel hot and sweaty. When your sympathetic nervous system is activated in the fight-or-flight response, your body temperature increases and you may tremble, break out in a sweat, or blush. Fear, worry, and emotional stress can cause this response.

3: Food and Drink

You may find certain foods and drinks increase your body temperature. It’s understandable that hot soup or hot tea will warm you up, but caffeine, spicy foods, and alcohol raise your heart rate, which also makes you feel warmer.

4: Thyroid Problems

Your thyroid hormones play a big role in your metabolism. Too much thyroid hormone—hyperthyroidism—speeds up your metabolism, making you feel hot, sweaty, hungry, or thirsty. Hyperthyroidism can also cause heart palpitations, tremors, fatigue, sleep troubles, or anxiety.

5: Fibromyalgia

In addition to fatigue and widespread pain in the body, people with fibromyalgia are often more sensitive to both heat and cold. When it’s warm, you may sweat excessively, feel flushed, and your hands and feet may feel swollen.

6: Medications

The reason you feel hot all the time could be a side effect of one of your medications or supplements. Hormonal medications, antibiotics, certain antidepressants, pain relievers, blood pressure drugs, and zinc supplements can cause increased body temperature.

7: Anhidrosis

Someone with anhidrosis will feel hot but not produce much sweat. Because your body isn’t able to sweat enough, you feel overheated. Other possible symptoms of this condition include muscle cramps, flushing, and dizziness.

8: Obesity

If you’re overweight, you’re more likely to feel hot all the time. When you carry more weight but have less skin surface to release the heat, your body struggles to maintain a comfortable temperature.

9: Out of Shape

Been a while since you exercised? Then don’t be surprised if you’re hot when everyone else is cool. For some reason, cardio exercise helps keep you cool (after you’ve cooled down after your workout). This may be because exercise is good for your weight, mood, and heart health.

10: Diabetes

Uncontrolled diabetes can damage your blood vessels’ ability to dilate, so they’re less able to bring blood to the skin to cool off. In addition, diabetes can harm your sweat glands so they don’t work like they should. The result? You’re hot all the time and more sensitive to heat. Diabetes also causes fatigue, increased thirst, frequent urination, and dizziness.

11: Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

The damage done to your central nervous system by multiple sclerosis can make you highly sensitive to warm temperatures. Heat, whether brought on by a fever, exercise, the weather, or a hot bath can also worsen the symptoms of MS.

12: Female Health

Several female health conditions can cause women to experience hot flashes or just feel hotter than usual. These include menopause, perimenopause, primary ovarian insufficiency, PMS, and pregnancy.
